Heidi, an apprentice at Minter Ellison Rudd Watts, Auckland made the decision to enter the competition at the last minute. In just one week Heidi created a recipe, produced her dish, photographed it and recorded a video. Her hard work paid off with her dish (pictured below) selected for the final. Heidi will compete against seven other apprentice finalists vying for the title of Cookery Modern Apprentice of the Year.

Brad Gifford, Chef and Site Manager at Minter Ellison Rudd Watts Lawyers, said that “having an Apprentice like Heidi is refreshing as she pushes herself and never settles for second best. I see Heidi going a long way as a Chef.”
The competition final will he held on Tuesday 21 August, at the New Zealand Culinary Fare in Auckland. The winner will receive a trip to the 2013 Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, and the opportunity to attend master classes with international chefs and front of house stars. Best of luck Heidi, the Alliance Catering team are all cheering for you.
